If you need to wait till Valentine’s day to give your romantic swerve on, then you’re either single or need a lifecoach… well that’s my excuse for delivering the mix late!
The premise is simple- ‘lovesongs’ and songs about love. From the smoochy to the sublime to the slightly unorthodox. I pulled together a stack of vinyl, knocked back some Rose and did this in one sitting. R.I.P. Teddy Pendergrass( a man with a beard I’ve tried to emulate) and all the other great artists who’ve provided the sound and inspiration. Enjoy. DOWNLOAD HERE.

DOWNLOAD: MYRRH BURNIN. The mighty King Britt has been pumping this album as his favourite Xmas album. Not questioning the man’s taste but I really dig this as well- Lou Rawl’s sings like butter melting into brandy and Axelrod’s production is airtight.(I put the Lou Rawls on last year’s mix so I’ll re-up if anyone needs it).
Back to the mix: Track 1 is off the Rotary Connection featuring Minnie Ripperton and her clique on a deep one. The rest of the mix is a slightly somber and utterly sober 9am Xmas Eve adventure through some chillness. If anyone really needs a tracklisting for any of the mixxxes, holla and I’ll forget to remember.

DOWNLOAD: FRANKLY SPEAKING. Mixed around 9pm Xmas Eve. I was semi sober when i did this. After track 4 we went into 7-inch mode and it was hard work… one shot too many. It made me question how OG spinners did it before it before the 12-inch came out (YEAH-PAUSE!!!). Shout to to OG Reggae selectors too. I respect anyone who can smash a party with those slippery plates. Enjoy

DOWNLOAD: GOLD AGAINST THE SOUL: Chapter 1- I did this at 2am on Xmas Eve. A few too many drinkies- Patron XO Cafe keeps you up & down- but we got there. A few of my favourite soul/disco and housegrooves. Watch out for the kkkk-klang in the middle. It happens… the music is what matters. Thanks to Oscar for the zupercool wrapping paper artwork
